Hey there! I'm Katie or Kate, depending on which side of my family you're from. Don't worry, I answer to both.

When my kids were small, I took the snapshots that we all take of our kids when they are little and I thought nothing of it until my daughter's senior year of high school when everything changed. I was looking around for something to fill up my days when my husband suggested I start a "365 Project", something he had read about on Twitter. I had no idea what he was talking about until he explained that all it meant was me taking a photo a day for an entire year.

Well, I took him up on it and Photography entered into our lives. I fell in love with it head over heels, reading books, taking classes and watching videos on the art. I found myself relying upon the craft much like I rely upon on my daily runs. It's a creative outlet, therapy, friend and a chance to finally let the world see what I see.

My favorite things to photograph are sports, food, experimenting with flash and my little family. You might find me court side shooting basketball, trail side shooting my husband and son mountain biking or on a deserted golf course taking portraits of our grown daughter. Another place you might find me is in my kitchen making a mess as I bake a cake or a batch of cookies.

I know that sports and food and portraits are all pretty different from each other, but for some unknown reason, those areas are what I've fallen for.

A few things about me that you may not know:

I am a former runner-turned-dog-walker, a wife, a momma to two kids and a black lab, all living in northwest Arkansas. I'm also a coffee drinker (black only and very, very strong), a reader for as long as I can remember, a gardener, a baker (but not a cook so much), an observer, a listener and a person who laughs out loud every day. I am happy with my life.

My two mantras:

1)  I'm small, but mighty.   2) All "they" can say is no.

Thank you for visiting and I look forward to seeing you again!

‎Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let pain make you hate. Do not let bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place.
