I shot another junior high basketball game last Thursday night, this time against "our" cross town rivals. These are the thoughts that ran through my head during the boys game.
"Oh good, there's a nice crowd tonight. . . That can NOT be Coleman Stennett! He's gotten so BIG! . . . Mmm, I think that ISO is a little too high. . . Guess I'll hang out here with the cheerleaders to use the crowd for background . . . Hey, the ref is playing air guitar! . . . I do like the music the high school plays for games. I've missed hearing Metallica . . . HA! That kid has tacos on his socks! . . .Ooh, the tip off is about to happen . . . Sweet! Finally got some good tip off pix without the ref getting in the way! . . . Okay, okay, okay, he's driving down the court getting ready for a lay up . . .switch cameras . . . . vertical . . . NOW!! . . . OUTTA THE WAY, REF!!!!! . . . .Come on, man, get the rebound! . . . wait for it, wait for it . . . zoom in a little tighter . . . calm down, Katie, breathe, breathe. . . . I need a peppermint . . . Wow, first quarter is over already? . . . Oh, the cheerleaders get to go on now . . . How do they manage to do all those flips without getting dizzy?. . . .Oop, game is about to begin again . . . .not yet, not yet . . . NOW! Switch cameras, shoot vertical and he gets the layup . . .did I get the shot? . . . just a quick peek . . . gah, where're my glasses? . . . sweet! got him mid air! . . . all right, back to the game . . . ooh, that's a great face he's making . . . the cheer coach is so nice . . .hey, that kid is wearing a cape with Ramay's tagline! . . . I don't remember being this supportive during junior high . . . guess times. . . PAY ATTENTION!!! . . .stop wandering off in your head. . . okay, okay, okay . . . .BREATHE!!! . . . drive, drive, drive . . . SCORE!! . . . man, I could sure use some water . . . . Hey, we may win . . . not yet, not yet . . . NOW! GRAB THE LITTLE CAMERA SHOOT VERTICAL AND WE WON!!! . . . get the jube shot . . . What a good game. . . .Geeze, I'm exhausted . . . Get ready for the girl's game next . . . "
